Abstract
My S.I.P, an internship S.I.P., intimately involved various sources of media. And like the various descriptions of media as another democratic outlet for those with access to it, my media internship was far from ideal but I am now more knowledgeable of what to expect in the career field of media production and more confident of my career interests and goals in regard to it. I also had time to reflect on my past media experiences and discover more about myself in the process. The path that led me to my internship at Rhino Media Productions is long and winding. The connections I’ve made through my experience to my life, philosophy, art, literature, and history, and to my mind, starts long before life at Kalamazoo College began. To begin, we’ll have to go back in time to a not so distant past shrouded in memory like an instagram-ed photo that’s been antiqued and adorned with a pin-holing vignette. Poems are sprinkled here and there; remnants of my ever-present, non-linear thinking that connect thoughts and feelings to words with interpretive meaning. When this written conception of what my journey was and what it means to me comes to a close what it means for you, my reader, I cannot know but from my experiences I have grown and that, at least is what I’d like to show.
