Before beginning on a paper of this nature, it is always necessary to make a few comments and statements of intention. First, since this is a paper on an entirely factual and noncontroversial subject, the information must be taken solely from books and other reference material. There is no opportunity for individual interpretation or even
for much opinion. Therefore, the reader must expect to find the material sounding strangely like a series of paraphrased sentences from various sources. A paper of this sort does have an educational value of learning about a subject, but is limited in its
value as an original work. The reader will see that there are only a few footnotes(listed at -the end), and that the rest is included in general references.
The subject is a fascinating one and one that. I knew absolutely nothing about, in fact was barely aware of. I enjoyed writing it and believe that it is accurate.
