Abstract
I chose to write a musical because I wanted to express my belief and confidence in today's musical comedy. I believe this form of theatre does have the potential to communicate with people on as serious a level as does today's drama. I chose the songs of Nancy Ford and Gretchen Cryer because their musicals are written with complex plots and characters. Their shows reach out and touch their audiences, conveying the inner thoughts and feelings of the two writers. This goal was the basis for my entire production, and served as my superobjective in writing my show. The main portion of my SIP entailed writing, producing, and performing a two-women show called If I Could Make A Difference. In the following pages I have included a journal of the various processes I underwent in writing and producing this show, along with the script, the music and other materials relevant to the production.
