Autobiographical Sole Performance: A Playwriting SIP
Abstract
The memory of sharing stories with friends shaped my conception of a Senior
Individualized Project that revolved around personal storytelling. Instead of standing on a
stage performing the words of authors and playwrights, I wanted to craft my own story,
and ensure the words coming out of my mouth truly came from me. My theory was that
the performance would then be more truthful, and thus more interesting for both an
audience and myself. With that, I sat down at my computer and attempted to create a
story from my past.
