Abstract
The Dallas Theater Center combines an undergraduate/graduate school of seventy students and a non-union residential repertory company of twenty-four members. Founded in I959 and imaginatively housed by Frank Llyod Wright, the Dallas Theater Center has grown under its managing director, Mr. Paul Baker, to be a reputable and dynamic regional theater. I applied and was accepted to work at the Dallas Theater Center for my SIP. My position was vague: I did not know what I would be expected to do, nor what would be my relationship to the professional company. I hoped to gain experience and insight into professional theater. The written part of my SIP was to be a journal of the ideas and the events of my stay with conclusions about the functioning of the technical side of the Dallas Theater Center.
