The purpose of this SIP was a personal one: to gain more experience in television and be exposed to educational television. In the course of the three months I worked at Channel 35 my experience was aimed at planning rather than actual studio production. I realize from this planning aspect that organization is as important as production. The planning I did alone, and in conjunction with others, was generally disorganized because we were all novices. However, the trial and error method we employed, while not the most efficient use of time, facilitated a well learned lesson. I learned that while too many people involved in a production can cause fragmentation of a show's facade, too few can cause trouble too.by not being equal to the task or not seeing it clearly. Speaking from personal experience a small team of two or three is optimum to provide fresh ideas and criticism. As for personal evaluation, I feel as if I did not do enough with the offered facilities and freedom as I could have. There was much wasted opportunity, but my initiative was reflective of the station's. Approaching the end of my stint there I began to "gain momentum" in implementing more of my ideas. The continuance of this implementation is my goal during the summer.
