Abstinence-Only Sex Education Versus Comprehensive Sex Education
MetadataShow full item record
The purpose of this paper is to look at research conducted for each side to determine if one has proven to be more effective than the other. If sufficient evaluations can not be found, then reasons for this shortcoming will be investigated. In the first chapter I define abstinence-based sex education, with information given on the objectives and reasonings behind such an approach. The second chapter maintains the same goal in describing the comprehensive sex education perspective. A clear understanding of the differing objectives of each side quickly develops from these two chapters. The third chapter reveals findings of research and shows the trends discovered. The fourth and final chapter discusses many of the issues involved in the subject of sex education and the impact they have on a successful program.
