Global Securities Markets
Abstract
The paper is based upon personal experiences at
Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit, and specific research
on global securities markets. The paper itself, is divided
into three main sections: 1) a discussion of global
securities markets, 2) an overview of experiences during the
internship at Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit, 3) a
brief discussion of the relationship between the WESIP
experience and previous academic work.
The first section begins with a discussion of current
securities market trends and the developments which led to the
production of the Global Thirty report. The reaction of the
United States to this report is presented in an explanation
of the u.s. Working Group and their conclusions. The section
concludes with criticisms made by the author and a statement
of unaddressed issues.
The second section presents a brief overview of
proceedings in the trust operations department at
Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit. A professional
journal provides the reader with a description of the various
projects performed, while completing the internship.
The third, and final, section briefly relates the
findings from section one and the work experience to prior
academic work completed at Kalamazoo College. In addition,
a brief explanation of career goals, and how they relate to
the WESIP, are provided.
Please note that all statements within the following
paper are those of the authors own opinion, and do not
necessarily reflect those of Manufacturers National Bank or
Kalamazoo College.
