Malnutrition in Grenada : Contributing Factors and Potential Solutions
Abstract
The author discusses the surprising prevalence of malnutrition (26% among young children in 1979) in the Caribbean nation of Grenada and the related issues of obesity, problem pregnancies and health concerns with the diet and ritual drug use of the island’s Rastafarian population. The author describes government efforts to improve the country’s nutrition through education and better access to food.
