A Preliminary Study of the Fund for community Developments Strategic Planning componenta
It is the purpose of this paper to begin an analysis of the viability of strategic plan use by nonprofit development agents. This pilot study begins with a review of the definition, role and purpose of strategic planning; a review of literature which frames the situation CDCs face in doing development and strategic planning; and, an overview of FCD's guidelines for CDC strategic planning, and its purpose and expectations of the strategic planning component of the program. The second part of the study consists of an explanation of the method for the analysis of the strategic planning component, as was designed by Zoe Barley and Tammy Kolbe. Following the explanation of the method are the results of a preliminary application of the method. Although, the data resulting from the preliminary application is not complete, conjectures as to how these results may be interpreted are included in the concluding discussion.'
