A New Era? A case study of Hew Era High School In Panchgani, India
Abstract
For my literature review, I will outline the basic goals
and statistics of India's present educational system. I will
talk briefly about its significant political and socioeconomic
tensions. I will then highlight some of the current
thoughts of writers, planners, activists, and theorists on the
same topic. The review will serve as a preface to my study of
and stay at New Era School in Panchgani, India.
Focusing upon my experiences at this particular school,
a private boarding school, run by Bahais, for standards
(grades) kindergarten through XII, I will attempt to explain
the school's goals and purpose, and examine if it works and if
it fulfills its own claims and general social needs.
