This paper strives to show how Trinidad's culture and history are reflected in and reaffirmed through the annual celebration of Carnival. The path it has taken and the development it has made throughout the years has amounted into a magnificent spectacle admired internationally today. However, what are some of the commentaries, criticisms, and critiques of the people towards Carnival and its main elements? In order to get this kind of information, one needs to take a step deeper, by taking the time to look past all the glossy advertisements to see what the people themselves are saying and being a critical participant and observer oneself.en_US
