Abstract
I was most intrigued by the generation gap between the first-generation Turkish-Americans (such as myself) and their immigrant parents that resulted from the different values that they held. Working along side a professor, Dr. Koyluoglu, I created a survey this past summer that we gave out to Turkish-Americans living in southern Michigan. Through this survey we explored the values that were most important to this population by asking questions concerning the family, marriage, authority, and religion, etc. In particular, with my project I was interested in learning about the differences in values between first-generation Turkish-Americans and Turkish immigrants.
