dc.description.abstract | On study abroad in Nagoya, Japan, I was repeatedly bewildered by the
circumstance of Japanese women. In many instances, the Japanese women that I
encountered appeared stiflingly oppressed. Yet, just as often, these same women seemed
exceptionally free. Furthermore, it appeared that little action was being taken by women
in efforts to rectify the disparity. After witnessing, first hand, the paradox that women
seemed to live, I resolved to explore the position, attitudes, and responses of Japanese
women. | en_US |
