Abstract
This paper looks to synthesize various authors' work on the gentrification of American cities and cities abroad. Using the literature on gentrification as a framework, this paper will attempt to measure to what degree gentrification is occurring in one community area of Chicago called Rogers Park and redefine how we view gentrification through various census/housing data sets, and interview based data.
