Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present a proposal for research. To this end, Title IX and the movement towards gender equity within athletics are closely examined. In addition, two institutions are isolated by measures of compliance with Title IX, for the purpose of their inclusion in this study. It is proposed that athletic department members from each institution complete a survey, designed to measure job satisfaction, motivation, and performance. The variant responses of men and women from the compliant and non-compliant institutions would then be examine. The results of such a study would provide insight into the effects of gender equity compliance on both men and women. Subsequently, future implementation practices may be reached, in addition to a greater understanding of how compliance effects athletics.
