dc.description.abstractChildren who have witnessed the violence of their parents have suffered behavioral problems, low self-esteem, and stress. These children have been uprooted from their homes. Many need therapeutic treatments for their problems. Individual therapy, group therapy, and filial therapy have all been used to treat child witnesses of domestic violence. The proposed study compares treatments on children (10-12 years old) who had recently been admitted to a shelter to determine which treatment is the most effective. In order to determine which therapy is best for these children, measures of self-esteem, behavior, and stress were examined. It was predicted that parent child relationship therapy is the best therapy for children witnesses of domestic abuse because of the therapies ability to build the parent child relationship, which due to the abuse had deteriorated.en_US
