This report presents the findings from the study abroad questions in the junior year
survey of the longitudinal study of Kalamazoo College's class of 2000. Specifically, it
focuses on the questions pertaining to the student's study abroad experiences. The results
show that (1) the overall experience was overwhelmingly positive (2) it helped students
confirm or reconsider career goals (3) some were victim of assault and theft, had
financial hardship(s}, and subjected to negative stereotypes and (4) a majority had a hard
time readjusting to Kalamazoo College.
