Abstract
The literature of Mexican-American people today draws its theses, themes, and its very reason for being from the politics and goals of the Chicano movement. The poetry that we are dealing with is literature of social protest. The poems are a reflection of the hurt, the anger, and the frustrations of life as a Chicano in an Anglo world. They deal with the problems of survival that Chicanos face day in and day out.
