Finding Hope in Rwanda: Christianity in Rwanda Before, During, and After the Genocide
Abstract
The battle for reconciliation, justice and peace in Rwanda will be an ongoing
process and it is unsure whether it will ultimately be achieved. Yet, Rwanda will always
remain a genocide that gives much information and explanation to why studying the rqle
of religion is so vital to the overall understanding of the horrendous tragedy of genocide.
As the first chapter described the historical events that occurred during Rwanda's
colonialism, post-independence, civil war and the actual genocide, it conveyed the
various highlights and attitudes that were a huge impact on the conflict. Having a
cohesive timeline of the events gives the audience a solid base to understand what
happened. Clarification of the catastrophe is significant to have be fore loo king at the
complex role of Christianity.
