    Abstract
In order to complete my senior individualized project I need to gain some experience in the working world on which to draw upon, in order to begin my research. My internship brought me to places that I had never been before. This was the first time that I would be working at a job where I was not outside doing manual labor all day. Working for Avaya as an intern was a very valuable experience tor me and I feel that it helped to me to see what I would be in store for during the rest of my life. Quickly I was thrown into the fast paced world of business. and I had to learn something new almost everyday. Taking on new responsibilities each day helped me to be more prepared for the world ahead of me. The work I did for Avaya helped me to choose what I would eventually do my research portion of the senior individualized project on. Avaya is a technological corporation that deals with phone networks and a voice and data systems. I found out that the gray market is a very big concern for companies of the same nature as A vaya, as well as those in many other industries. My research will explore the price differences that are prevalent because of the gray market and to what extent this might be hurting the manufacturers. Also the kinds of techniques that might be used to try and stop those who perpetuate the gray market will be explored. And finally the impacts that the gray market could have on the consumers who think that they are getting an exceptional bargain by buying merchandise from the gray market.
