The subject of this Senior Individual Project is abortion in France. I have chosen four subtopics relevant to this topic upon which to focus. They are as follows: the history of reproductive rights in France, the current situation of abortion in France, French groups who work for and against abortion rights, and the "French abortion pill", RU-486. The purpose of this paper is to show what situations and influences are faced by French women in the position of seeking an abortion. To this end, I will speak of such specific topics as the availability of abortion, the cost of abortion, the conditions in which it is carried out, material and social resources available to pregnant women, and possible psychological and social influences on women who wish to abort.en_US
