Day Trading Into the Next Century
Abstract
The author describes his internship at Merrill Lynch in the first section and his experiences with day trading in the second part. Day trading is buying and selling stocks on the market on a daily basis, trying to make the quick buck. A broker is always buying and selling stock for the clients on a daily basis. The author chose to research day trading in order to experience what a broker actually does.
The author includes the history of day trading, the basics of day trading, and what a day trader and a broker need to know when trying to trade stock. In addition, the author discusses the technological aspects of day trading: web-based brokers and electronic brokers. Web-based brokers are easy to access and are very cheap ways to operate on the market. Electronic brokers give you direct access to the markets. Finally, the author discusses the future of day trading.
