Sunglo Services is a 24-hour emergency disaster restoration and rebuilding service based out of Novi, Michigan. Since 1980, Sunglo has served commercial and residential properties in rebuilding their fire, water, wind, and mold damage. During this time, Sunglo has built an excellent reputation by forming relationships with the people and communities they serve. In the winter of 2010, the management staff began talks of company expansion to the Tri-City region in Michigan. It was declared in January of 2011 that Saginaw was chosen as Sunglo's newest location to-be. Sunglo also began talks of moving their main office to another larger building in the same city of Novi, MI. This change of scenery would allow the corporate division of Sunglo to operate with more room, as well as making room in the warehouse for a plethora of equipment, as well as dozens of box trucks. These two new locations would create a long summer process of negotiating, budgeting, and planning in order to make these moves a success. This summer I helped the members of this management team, in particular the General Manager Jason Hansen, and the Sales Manager Timothy Ford, in dealing with their mass amount of preparation material for the company expansion. I also sat in on meetings with the real estate brokers during the sale negotiation process and Through my time at Sunglo, I gained a rare and valuable insight into the process of opening a new location. From beginning to sketch out a expansion plan to hiring new employees and creating a budget, I experienced just how much work was involved in such a simple concept. My exposure to this progression involved a vast array of business concepts in organizational behavior, finance, marketing, statistics, and accounting.
