    Abstract
This project was a way for me to step out of my comfort zone, working in an agriculture related industry. I spent my summer working on a vineyard in the Finger Lakes region of Ne\v York State. Currently, this area houses the third largest wine industry in America. Much of my time at the vineyard consisted of managing the vines. So, to say the least, I learned how to produce wine grapes. I also learned first-hand all the difficulties of growing wine grapes. Grapes take a lot labor to produce. Overall, it was a great experience. This paper consists of my experience working at King Ferry Vineyard and a business plan to produce a future vineyard on my cousin's property in Union Springs, NY. Through writing this business plan, I learned that any agriculture business takes a vast amount of money and resources to bring to fruition, especially vineyards. Vineyards are very complex animals that need special environments to succeed. This area of New york provides that unique environment for grape production. The premium wine industry has been expanding quite quickly in the past two decades due to the aging baby-boomer population. Fact, old people like wine. Cheero Vineyard's goal is to take advantage of this business opportunity by producing premium Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay grapes. The business plan is only to develop a vineyard, not a vineyard winery combo. This is a semi-retirement business plan. Money profit is not of major concern.
