Stryker Corporation is a multi-billion dollar publicly traded company. It is one of
the top businesses in the medical industry market. This papers deals with the innermost
workings of the company from the point of view of an assembly line worker. The first
section is an attempt to give the reader a sense of what a blue collar worker experiences
and thinks each day.
In the connections essay the blue collar job is compared to microeconomic theory
and other economic issues. Topics included in this portion include the basic principles of
demand, the short run production function, the supply of labor, and inventory measures.
The job is for the most part basic and very repetitious, but still there are a lot of decisions
made for and by the assembly workers that affect the company in a large way.
