For my Senior Individualized Project, I have elected to complete the Experiential SIP. The first part of the paper focuses on my internship experience at DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. as a co-cop in the Human Resources department. The second part of the essay is about the trend of employee development in the workplace. To do this I have chosen to focus on the trend of mentoring in the workplace. Introduction I believe that one of the best ways to become a well rounded person is to experience something in many different ways. So, I believe that the best way to become a desirable employee is to not only study at school but to get workplace experience as well. At school, you learn all the formulas, theories, and the history of why things are the way they are. While this is all crucial to your success after college, it is only half the knowledge you need to be successful. I believe that one of the greatest advantages to an internship is that you get to learn the people aspect of the workplace as well as implement the things you have learned in class. So, through the experience I have had by taking part in this internship and writing this paper, I believe that I have moved toward becoming that well rounded person that an employer will be looking for.
