Sustainable Development and the Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development
Abstract
Over the past two summers, I was an intern with Macomb County Department of
Planning and Economic Development. In 2004, I worked for the County's Small
Business and Technology Development Center. This Experiential Senior Individualized
Project focuses on my activities in the Summer of 2005, with the County's Planning
Department.
My experience with this organization taught me about sustainable development in
a large aging community, as well as providing a healthy and safe environment for
younger generations. Through simple neighborhood parks and intricate countywide
trails, the Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development has
helped me understand innumerable ways to connect with and provide for the rapidly
growing and ever changing population in Macomb County.
