This Senior Individualized Project (SIP) consists of two parts. Part one entails a reflection of the entrepreneurial endeavor that I experienced in the summer of 2010 when I started up· and operated my own business called "Kait's Crepe Stand" in Grand Haven State Park. My reflection of this venture describes all of the steps I took throughout this undertaking including how I came up with the idea, how I initiated the opportunity, and how I put my idea into action, along with all of the trials and tribulations that I faced throughout the process. Although Kait's Crepe Stand was not very successful in terms of profit expectations, the entire experience provided me with the opportunity to engage in an exciting experience filled with a great deal of initiative and responsibility, and from this, I learned several invaluable lessons along the way. Part two is a hypothetical business plan for a cafe and creperie called Cafe Europa which is hypothetically located on Chinook Pier in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Cafe aims to provide the community with a distinct atmosphere where customers can escape their usual lives and enter into a comfortable, relaxing, yet trendy ambiance where they can enjoy European cafe classics such as coffee, chocolate con churros, and a wide variety of delicious dessert crepes (with the option to add ice cream) and delectable savory crepes that will be made right before their eyes. For the second part of my SIP, I wanted to incorporate the culture that I learned and loved so much while I studied abroad in Europe and combine my creativity along with the knowledge that I have acquired from taking courses in economics and business to create a theoretical business plan.en_US
