The summer of 2007 I worked for a hospitality management company named Hotel Investment Services. My position was located at a property called Yarrow Golf &Conference Center. I was assigned as an Intern to the Director of Operations. This position allowed me to get a real life glimpse at how a business is run and operated from top to bottom. Although Kalamazoo College has a good Economics and Business department, no particular class could quite prepare me for the array of different problems, and situations that rose during the job. A more detailed explanation of my job responsibilities, including tasks and valuable knowledge gained will be located in the Experiential Description part of this text. The Connections Essay portion of this text will entail research I have found on how Yarrow Golf & Conference Center could significantly improve its proficiency and effectiveness using computers, and computer software.en_US
