A Market Plan for an Incoming Horse Trainer Into the Horse Show Industry
Abstract
My senior individualized project consists of drawing my own personal experience 1 had
with a nationally recognized horse trainer and applying what I learned from that experience to
create a marketing plan for a new incoming horse trainer trying to enter into the horse show
industry. I broke the marketing plan down into five sections. These sections include goals that
a new trainer entering the industry should be looking to achieve, creating a SWOT analysis to
better understand their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as, knowing opportunities and
threats that may be within the industry, better understanding the market they are entering,
using marketing strategies to promote their business and the expenses that come with running
a high-caliber training facility. All of these sections illustrate how a new trainer can become
~ successful in a small industry that, in comparison to others, is difficult to enter.
