Abstract
Corporate globalization is a phenomenon that utilizes today's advancements in technologies and communications to help corporations do business on an international basis, in order that they may gain greater recognition, success, and, of course, profits. While working for a private global company, with a major global company as a client, I experienced first-hand the way in which business is conducted on a global basis. I was able to study global corporate structure, strategies, global marketing, and more. I also learned about complications in global corporation, from very large problems to small annoyances. For example, large, complicated issues such as varying governmental regulations from country to country and international travel and work permit issues showed me the many large-scale problems global corporations have to face. Through my work, I realized that small difficulties, such as measurement discrepancies and currency conversions, were everyday problems that complicate work for employees of global corporations. Overall, my first-hand experience, detailed in the experiential section, led me to research in greater detail the process, workings, strengths and weaknesses of corporate globalization. These topics are discussed in the research section of this thesis through the use of several resources, including a case study of a major global corporation. Contained in this thesis is a combination of persona4 experience-based information, and solid textual research on several aspects of corporate globalization.
