This research examined self-ratings of happiness, life satisfaction, and the Big Five personality traits of consensually nonmonogamous participants versus monogamous participants. Results indicate that conscientiousness and openness were predictors of a participant’s relationship style, with higher scores on conscientiousness predicting a participant to be monogamous, and higher scores on openness predicting a participant to be consensually nonmonogamous. Nonsignificant differences were found between participants on agreeableness, extraversion, neuroticism, happiness, and life satisfaction.
