My experience as a human resource intern for St. John Providence Health System led to research of the recruitment process. I found that job recruitment and retention are closely linked to the theory of motivation in regards to Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Recruitment is also connected to the theories of Person-Organization and Person-Job fit, which are derived from the Person-Environment fit theory.
