Stress Reducing Self-Regulation Intervention in School Aged Children of Low Socioeconomic Status
Abstract
Chronic exposure to stress during critical periods of development is capable of lifelong systemic influences on the body that alter the bodies ability to cope with disease (Boyce, 2007). Reducing stress as a method of preventative care needs to be explored as a means to reduce and ameliorate substantial health disparities associated with low socioeconomic status (SES).
