Japanese Automobile Industry: Why Is It Falling?
Abstract
The Japanese automobile industry has been under much scrutiny for
awhile now. Questions are being asked whether the Japanese industries will
remain on top or are American car companies in good enough shape to
recapture the title. The answers seem to vary amongst many analysts.
Japan has overcome many obstacles to become the leader in the auto
world. Lean production, which has a goal of perfection, has been one of the
main reasons why Japan has become so efficient. Japanese auto industries
have learned the technique to produce cost efficient, high quality cars.
While the companies are struggling a little now in the 90s, Japan should not
be forgotten by other nations.
My paper addresses the Japanese automobile industry, from it rise
during the 80s to the decline ·in the 90s.
