Abstract
My Senior Individualized Project was an experiential internship with the International Department of Comerica Bank, Detroit MI. I worked for 12 weeks on the 23rd floor of One Detroit Center on Woodward Ave. Comerica is a large corporation, $34 Billion, and the International Department is approximately $13 Billion of the $34 Billion. Throughout the time I worked for them, I was able to see the different aspects of the International Department, and the bank as a whole. My responsibilities included: a Federal Reserve report on the Bank's foreign exposure, some accounting, translating Spanish to English, and research. I was also included in department meetings, some outings, and special seminars on continuing education. The Human Resources department organized the Intern program in which I participated. There were weekly meetings for five weeks, where all interns in the company met together to discuss our work, experiences, what we were learning, our complaints or compliments, and any suggestions for improvements. Working for Comerica was a valuable experience. I gained practical skills and finance experience, both of which have influenced the path I plan to take after graduation.
