Aspects of Opening a Gap in Germany
MetadataShow full item record
The goal of this project was to research a few of the dynamics involved in opening a Gap in Germany. To provide an understanding of The Gap, I included a brief history of Gap Inc. with some of its key features. However, as The Gap currently has foreign operations, I concentrated on forces that have shaped and are currently shaping German businesses. Therefore, research was conducted on more cultural aspects such as: • basic German laws for new businesses, • forces in German businesses, • differences in management styles, and • a look at retail in the European Union and Germany. Gap Inc. currently operates stores in Europe and thus, is already aware of the procedures necessary in opening a store in the European market. Therefore, this project is not meant to be an extensive look at the right strategy for The Gap to enter the German market, but rather a closer look at the cultural differences.Missing pages 9-11.
