First of America Services Network Computing: A Strategic Business Plan and Analysis of First of America Services Considered Move into the European Telecommunications and Banking Markets
I began working for First of America Bank Corporation in July of 1995. I was hired to work as an intern with Tom Van Horn in First of America Services' Telecommunications department, which has now been renamed Network Computing. Initially I was given two major projects, creating a statistics spreadsheet and obtaining the statistics to analyze changes throughout the year, mainly to pinpoint problem areas. My second project was reorganizing the job structure within First of America Services and then rewriting job descriptions for the Telecommunications department. Both of these projects, although interesting were not as challenging as what I had hoped my projects would be. I later found, however, that learning the basics through working on these projects was instrumental in helping with writing the First of America Services Business Strategy.
