dc.description.abstract | The author interned with the General Council at Ford Motor Company, working on the agreements made between corporations when forming a third company. One of the most important parts of these agreements is the Dispute Resolution Clause which covers what type of procedure will be used in the event of a dispute. This led to her comparison between the main types of dispute resolution: arbitration, mediation and litigation, concentrating on international commercial arbitration and its role in international business. There are many choices a business must make in deciding which form of arbitration to use, the first being institutional or ad hoc. If a company decides to use the help of an institution, they must choose one whose rules and procedures fit most closely with their goals and practices. | en_US |
