Abstract
Coaches should be specifically interested in this issue because the existence of a relationship between self-efficacy and sports performance will be useful when
trying to increase the level of athletic performance. This paper is an effort to explore how self-efficacy relates to sports performance. Specifically, this paper will fulfill three objectives which are (a) to explore Bandura's self-efficacy theory and how it relates to sports performance, (b) to summarize research that has been done on the relationship between self-efficacy and sports performance, and (c) to discuss the techniques that may be useful for increasing an athlete's self-efficacy.
