The technological capabilities of the world are advancing rapidly, hence to remain competitive through efficiency, the business community must remain in step with the times. Kalamazoo College is, first and foremost, a business, and therefore must follow this initiative if it is to remain successful. In an effort to maintain the competitive edge that Kalamazoo College is renowned for, it was deemed necessary to update the methods for managing the financial assets of the Athletic Department, including those of the Athletic Trainer. The office of the Athletic Trainer also requires special tracking capabilities related to injuries and equipment. Examples of this include tracking medical supplies, loaned equipment (crutches etc.), and financial resources. Under the general budget, travel expenses, equipment costs, Trainer assistant wages and other costs must be tracked and accounted for. Believing that a computer based management system is currently the most efficient and effective way to accomplish these tasks, this project was developed.
