This paper is a summary of its author's attempts to explore various number-theoretic properties of the Fibonacci numbers. This exploration was. conducted with virtually no use of published accounts of the subject. In this way, the elementary number-theoretic properties of the sequence were discovered as if for the first time. Accordingly, there are gaps in the body of knowledge accumulated, with many questions left unanswered. No high-powered techniques were applied to derive the results. Rather, this paper is an indication of where a little simple curiosity may lead.
