Abstract
The initial idea developed by Mr. Leslie was to make a technique called "fineplotting" available on two very advanced types of terminals made by the Gen-Com Systems Company. Fineplotting is very similarĀ· to regular plotting with the exception of the incrementation between characters and lines. Once this fineplotting was enabled, Mr. Leslie wanted a program written for in-house computer at Upjohn, in a relatively advanced language (APL) that would fineplot a data set quickly, easily, and inexpensively. This was basically the heart of the project. There were other tasks to be done during the quarter to complement it and give me a variety of responsibilities.
