dc.description.abstractMY Senior Independent Project consisted of a working experience with the Management Science Department of the First Tennessee National, a holding company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee and individual project which composed the rnajor portion of my work experience. The project can be broken down in the following three separate sections; the collection of time series economic indicator data for the formation of a regional data bank, the writing of a main program for the in-house Burrows system to store and update the data collected and the use of this data in the calculation of a diffusion index of economic activity for the state of Tennessee. Besides working on the three sections of my project, I was asked from time to time to locate other economic data for use in projects of others in the department.en_US
