20/20 Reports at Valassis Communications

Abstract

The author describes his internship with Valassis Communications and the development of reports to reflect the Front Cover, Perfect Spread (the two center pages), and the Back Cover statistics by Date and Client nationwide using a report supplied by the Majer's Corporation. The reports would show the number of coupons distributed on any one Insert date (all FSI/Suppliers combined) and the number of pages purchased by any particular Client throughout the report period. The reports would be used to determine to whom a reservation for a space in an insert would be granted. The reports were created with Access Technology's 20/20 Integrated Spreadsheet Modeling Program for use on a VAX computer system.
