dc.description.abstractThe author describes his internship at Texas Instruments in Austin, Texas. His duties involved the SURE reporting system, including administration, consulting, programming, and documentation. SURE stands for Slick Utility for Reporting Everything. It is the primary reporting system used at the Austin site. The SURE system operates on an IBM 370 mainframe based in Dallas, Texas. This system utilizes over one hundred databases, containing many of the site's application data. These databases are called reporting databases or are synonymously referred to as reporting "categories." There are over two hundred SURE users and over one thousand SURE reports are generated monthly.en_US
