    Abstract
This project represents the culmination of nearly seven months of internship at Valassis Communications Inc. in addition to numerous hours of thought and investigation of intranet and Internet technologies. I have tried to create an unbiased overview of intranets and the benefits and lessons they can provide to both business and people. Integrating the numerous experiences I had at Valassis with the paper would be impossible but I hope that the underlying tones of common sense and analysis shine through.
