While this paper is mostly experiential, there will be a small research portion that will also be addressed. In this paper, I will talk about the work that I did over the summer with Dr. Eric Barth, along with the research that I performed afterward. A large part of this paper will focus on my summer work, about learning what was needed to commence the research later, and what problems that came up during the course of my work. A smaller, but no less important, part of this paper will discuss the research that I performed and how it will be used. The core of this paper will be on Cauchy's Theorem. It is the central theme of the work that I did, and the subject of the research portion of my project. It is an immensely important part of Complex Analysis, as you will see through the course of this paper.
