    Abstract
In this paper, we suggest that we ought to develop humane interfaces to computation. We further suggest that this can be accomplished by constructing dialogical interfaces, that such interfaces provide models of interaction which are powerful enough to satisfy our humane ends. We present explication toward the nature of dialogue and dialogical models, and relate such models to the problem of humane interaction. We then examine what is necessary for the construction of dialogical models via insufficiencies of specific models of meaning representation. We offer steps along the way toward a robust dialogical model, and conclude with a discussion of what steps remain to be taken.
